Our Quality Commitment

Every rod and blank that leaves our workshop in Fuzhou has been hand-planed, finished, and inspected by Mr. Zhu or a member of his team. We have been building bamboo fly rods since 1996 and stand behind our craftsmanship.

Warranty Coverage

ZHUSROD finished rods and rod blanks carry a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects, including:

  • Ferrule fit issues (ferrules loosening or not seating properly out of the box)
  • Delamination or cane separation not caused by misuse
  • Guide wrapping failures under normal fishing conditions

The warranty does not cover:

  • Breakage from casting, impact, or improper transport
  • Damage from forcing stuck ferrules
  • Prolonged exposure to moisture, heat, or direct sunlight

Rod Repair

We offer repair services for damaged sections. Rod tip sections are the most commonly replaced part — contact us with the damage description and we can usually supply or rebuild a replacement tip. Repair costs are quoted case-by-case.

Daily Rod Care

  • After fishing: Wipe the rod with a dry cloth. Do not store wet.
  • Ferrules: Occasionally rub the male ferrule lightly against the side of your nose — natural skin oil prevents galling without over-lubricating.
  • Storage: Store disassembled in the cloth rod bag provided. Avoid damp or sealed airtight environments (bamboo needs to breathe).
  • Annual care: Apply a light coat of paste wax (Johnson's Paste Wax or similar) to the cane sections once a year to protect the finish.
  • Tip section: Take extra care with the fine-diameter tip — it is resilient but can snap if stepped on or caught in a car door.
