Choose a Payne reference by model and specification, not by maker name alone. ZHUSROD blanks based on Payne 96, 100, 101, 102, 200L and 214 Parabolic designs cover different trout line weights, lengths and section arrangements.
A compact Payne 100 or 101 project has different component and balance requirements from a longer 200L or a heavier 214 Parabolic build. Compare the selected blank’s taper reference, line weight, finished length, section count, tip configuration and ferrule option before ordering hardware.
These are newly made ZHUSROD blanks based on archived E. F. Payne taper data, not original Payne blanks, factory replacement sections or antique components. Use the rod-builder resources and guide-spacing reference during planning. Completed rods are available in Payne taper bamboo fly rods, and components are available through rod-building supplies.
