Double-Taper or Weight-Forward Silk Line?
A double-taper fly line has a symmetrical profile. It supports controlled presentation and can be reversed when one end has received extended use. A weight-forward fly line places more mass toward the front of the head and produces a different loading and turnover profile. Neither design is automatically better for every rod.

Silk Fishing Line Requires Regular Care
Natural silk needs more care than most modern synthetic fly lines. Apply an appropriate dressing before fishing, then remove the line from the reel or place it in loose coils so it can dry after use. Never grease a wet silk fly line, because trapped moisture can damage the material during storage.
