Just received my second Zhu rod and love it.  I have an 8ft 6 weight and a 7 1/2 ft. 4 weight.  I am not sure what taper these are built on, but they seem to be pretty fast rods for being bamboo.  I generally fish them one line heavier, and they really zip.
