THE MAKER BEHIND ZHUSROD

Meet Mr. Zhu

The bamboo rod maker behind ZHUSROD. A closer look at the rods, the blanks and the details that connect them.

A name rooted in bamboo

ZHUSROD takes its name from Mr. Zhu, whose surname echoes the Chinese word for bamboo. The name connects the maker with the material at the heart of the workshop.

Our rods are made to be fished: a way to enjoy the rhythm of the cast, the water and the craft behind a classic taper.

THE TAPER

A shape with a purpose

A bamboo rod carries its character through a changing section profile. Taper, line weight, length and sections belong together when considering a build.

THE DETAILS

From a blank to a finished rod

Grips, guides, wraps and ferrules are part of a finished rod's individual build. A rod blank leaves the next stages to its builder, according to the supplied configuration.
