Casting range
The South Bend Cross Sylph blank reimagines the Dickerson 7012 taper with reinforced butt sections (0.417" at 75-90") and a refined tip transition (0.072" at 0-30"), creating a medium-heavy power profile that masters both delicate dry fly presentations and subsurface streamer work. Mirror-polished 18% nickel silver ferrules complement the hex-split Tonkin bamboo construction, delivering torsional stability during aggressive trout fights.
Crafted from hand-selected 5-year matured bamboo and protected by water-based varnish (unfinished option available), this 7ft 6in 2pc blank excels in 15-30ft casting scenarios. The optimized taper progression shines in tailwater environments, enabling swift transitions between #16 Adams dry flies and 3" streamers while maintaining line control in crosswinds.
